TESLA IN OZ... THE TESLA INSTITUTE OF SUSTAINABLE LIVING AND NATURAL DEVELOPMENT Tesla in Oz is brought to you from the Tesla Institute of Sustainable Living and Natural Development from # 5 Coral Atoll in Port Douglas, Far North Queensland, Australia. Tesla ISLAND is a non-profit organization created to foster environmental projects that promote Earth healing and community development. The concept is funded by a joint venture of Tesla in Oz and other affiliates of the International Tesla Electric Company, the Kingdom Grant Foundation, HydroPlaz and FerroGreen.Org. Preference is given to projects which have the potential of leading Earth's people toward a sustainable future. In the spirit of Nicola Tesla, projects he deemed important... free energy, reforestation, community development and raising human beings to their highest potential... are given top priority. The institute is an experiment in sustainable living using a combination of both innovative new and proven old technologies and development of the human spirit, as envisioned by Nicola Tesla. With a mix of both natural vegetation and cultivated gardens, the grounds are a home to many species of tropical coastal wildlife, including rare and exotic birds, frogs and reptiles. It is the heartfelt mission of this institute to achieve a carbon neutral economy and a balance with nature by 2023, as a model for both the local and global communities. The balance of the Earth's future remains in our hands. The decisions we make in the years to come will determine the fate of the planet and all of humanity. By acting now, we can create a better world for the children of today and future generations. Remember... the Earth is an "Island in Space"... let us treat it so.

TESLA INSTITUTE OF SUSTAINABLE LIVING AND NATURAL DEVELOPMENT @ # 5 Coral Atoll in Port Douglas, Far North Queensland, Australia... an experiment in sustainable living. Free Electricity is now a reality... a $5,000 solar system cost $1990 with government subsidies... now selling all excess power to Ergon for $0.44/kWh and buying back at $0.22/kWh... and on a good sunny day the system will put out almost 8 kWh! So far it looks like I am winning and the system will be paid for within 2 years. Also, the home of HydroLancer, an experimental H+ Hybrid... has made hundreds of kms running on water and thermal-magnetic cracked fuel to more than double the mileage. TESLA IN OZ is the creation of John Scotese... Aquarian, marine biologist, yachtsman, natural capitalist, free energy researcher and citizen of the planet. Now finding a balance between land and sea, a tree "change" is now in order... to take the lessons of sustainability of life at sea to a sustainable existance on terra firma. Having graduated from designing, building and navigating the ultimate solar yacht Alacrity II... now planning a fleet of "Earthships", designed to navigate this voyager and fellow travellers into a brighter and more promising future through the Tesla Institute of Sustainable Living and Natural Development. THE IDEA When I was around 10 years old, my dad took me to the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. In the museum gift shop I saw my first radiometer... I was fascinated with the concept of simple photons of light energy creating motion inside a glass bubble... my first introduction to Free Energy. I also discovered heat would make it move as well, however, it soon became clear that this would not work at night... so I turned my attention to magnets. Magnets are fascinating and mysterious things to kids... there must be some way to extract energy from magnets! Unfortunately, no one told me about the laws of thermodynamics, and as a result took apart every toy with magnets I had, and collected all the magnets I could find in the house. Then I would turn my bike upside down and tape the magnets to the spokes on the front wheel and tried to configure the magnets to achieve perpetual motion... most of it was simply a mental exercise as I soon became aware of the fact that I just did not have enough magnets.... if only I had heaps of powerful magnets! REALITY Flash forwrd to California, during the oil embargo of 1979. We were lining up for fuel... odd days or even days... depending on the plate number. At that time, I was off on a new business venture of supplying marine organisms for biomedical research. I was very much aware that fossil fuels are a finite resource and a few scientists were already warning of the possibility of human-induced climate change. President Jimmy Carter called upon business owners to consider incorporating renewable energy sources into the operations, and offered tax incentives for such investments. I heeded the president's challange and bought a small yacht named Alacrity, using sun, wind, waves and tides to offset the costs of fuel and electricity. It was here that I discovered "Free Energy". The business became profitable in a short time, and a few years later, set my sights on a larger vessel... I always did like Jimmy... I truly believe he is a good man.
SV ALACRITY II was built in Taiwan in 1979 and shipped to Marina del Rey, California as the Mandarin Evening, along with a crew of Chinese girls from Hong Kong. Here she began her colourful career in the "adult entertainment video" business. Unfortunately, the navigational skills of the captain and crew were sorely lacking as three years later, she sank in the marina berth. Here she was bought and salvaged by my business, promptly rechristened Alacrity II and relocated to her new home port in Redondo Beach, where she became a research vessel and mother ship to a couple of dive tenders which collected the marine specimens. As Alacrity II sailed the coastal and island waters of Southern California, she was transformed into a proper blue water cruising yacht, all solar and wind powered. In 1988, she set sail for Mexico. After 9 years of adventures and misadventures... from Latin America to Oceania... Alacrity II managed to navigate to Brisbane, Australia in 1997. For the next few years, she cruised the the Coral Coast of Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New Guinea. Eventually sailed into Port Douglas in 2000, operating as SV Alacrity II, until she was sold in 2009. However, I still manage to "keep my gills wet" working at Reef BioSearch. During my time at sea, I meditated on the concept of the "EarthShip", an environmentally friendly home, made of adobe and recycled material such as windows, bottles, timber and tires and any suitable material locally available, ideally on the land itself. The EarthShip La Concha, is already on the drawing board, and now searching the Tablelands for a suitable site for its' construction, while the bottle collection grows steadily.

FANTASY BECOMES REALITY Meanwhile, having been university educated, the laws of thermodynamics dictated that energy could neither be created nor destroyed... so as a result had to give up on my ideas of magnetic energy. However, the simple concept of the the radiometer that fascinated me as a child, began to evolve into the idea of solar space ships, capable of sailing the solar winds... faster and faster... approaching the speed of light... all theoretically plausible... but then we would have to figure out how to stop the darn things... "Hey Scotty...where's the brakes?" But then in the early 1980's there were rumours of magnetic engines... so called perpetual motion machines (hang on... I had that idea in the 60's). Then in 1987 I met up with some crazy guys in Ventura California that were actually experimenting with solar powered heat engines and... later magnetic engines. I was involved in the inititial research... took and recorded the measurements... seen it with my own eyes... and discovered there is a whole world outside the laws of classical physics. But then again... I took the time to do the experiments and see for myself. Some people look, but they do not "see," as their minds are closed to such possibilities. As a result, I am convinced that Free Energy from magnetic forces is possible. But is it perpetual motion? Probably not... as the permanent magnets have a life of only 1200 years. Also you need energy to run the things so we now define them as very efficient electric motors propelled by magnetic forces. However the only question I do have is... how long do these devices last... 1200 years? That is an experiment I would like to begin right now!
