HOW IT WORKS
There are many benefits of joining Queensland's "Virtual Solar Power Plant", while generous federal and state rebates exist... around $3000 off of a 1.5 kW system worth $5000. So for an investment currently at $1890, a system can can pay for itself in less than 2 years. Larger domestic systems up to 5 kW and larger commercial systems, even up to the megawatt range, are also available.
In purchasing a photovoltaic system, you get a reverse two way meter that measures how much energy you put into the grid and how much you take out. At the moment, Ergon and other power providers will pay you $.44 kWh
while you pay them only $.22 kWh. At the very least, a 1.5 kW system will save you up to $500 off of your electric bill each year. However if you have the ability to change your energy habits and feed your excess power into the grid... you can have free electricity and cash in your pocket for years as the panels have a 25 year warrantee... will probably last longer than that... and the feed in tariff contracts with Ergon are good until 2028.

SOLAR GRANTS FOR SCHOOLS, CLUBS, COMMUNITY CENTRES AND NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS
Tesla in Oz also provides free grant writing services for eligible schools, clubs, community centres and other non-profit organisations for grid-connect solar systems through the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation. We sit down with a senior member of the committee, fill in the forms, and Eco-Kinetics provides the quotes to supply the system. Once grants are awarded the contract for installation goes to our certified local electrician. This is a no risk way of getting solar at no cost, as it is all subsidised by the federal and state governments. All we need is co-operation with the Treasurer or Finance Manager of the club, school or centre to sit down and fill out the forms correctly and submit online.
